Well, as the father of 3 boys, I can say forget about a driver's car and
go with the most practical vehicle on the road -- a minivan. Schlepping
kids and their gear around requires a different vehicle than what you
want.  There's a reason there are millions of them on the road.

Sorry it's not what you were expecting, or what you wanted to hear.

We rented a Dodge Caravan to carry 3 people, their luggage, and a dog in
a cage from NH to SC and back. It was perfect for the trip, but it
wasn't a track day.
