My 100S is a FWD automatic, and it is slow. But it is also reliable. It
was my daily driver until I got the (second) '91 20V. I haven't driven
it in a month or two. I went to start it yesterday, to move it. It
started on the first turn of the key -- quicker than my '91 20V (which I
finally got around to putting a fuel pressure gauge in; I'll see this
morning if it is due to fuel pressure draining off overnight.). So yeah,
it should be just the ticket.
Things to check: ignition switch; calipers sticking; timing belt
replacement (mileage and age); exhaust system. The POS (power output
stage) ignition modules tend to fail slowly and subtly.
If it is a '95, you can pull the codes off it:

If it is a '96, take it to the local FLAPS (AutoZone for one), and have
them pull the codes for free.
