Not so much.

It's all about *what's* going to fail. Turbos (worse on 2.7T than 
I5), engine electricals, interior electronics, suspension, cooling 
systems, etc.

And you could pick up a 3 year 100K mile extended warranty on the newer car...

Options, it's nice to have options. :)
