No, I did not paint my IM. I did however powder coat the wastegate cap black
and I had the EM ceramic coated.

thanks for the responses guys. I appreciate part numbers and once again
woulda, coulda, shoulda just called SJM and been good!
and sorry to hear of your unfortunate event Trevor, I will definitely have a
look at the water manifold.
also, Sean, didnt you paint your IM black? I thought that was you..
I understand the principles of heat retention, convection, but question just
how much its effects would be..
thanks again, brian

I just replaced that exact hose under the IM, it's a PITA to get to with the
IM in place, but doable. I replaced the t-stat cover and the associated
coolant hose as well.
To get more access, remove the upper boost hose and disonnect the MFTS plug.
It helps to have a flexible 7 mm nut driver to get to the clamps.
The hose in question does have a part number, its N 020 262 1, cut to 160 mm
long. SJM sells it along with 2 new clamps for $14. I would not use generic
hose, this is not something you want to do twice.
There is also a small hose that runs to the t-stat housing that is worth
doing while you are there.
Cheers,
Sean
