[s-cars] Viscous Fan Clutch Question

Another in an unending set of questions as I go forward with the
TB/Turbo/IC/MM(not) project.

As I removed the fan attached to the viscous clutch, I noticed "play"
in the clutch.  In other words, you could move the fan outside the
plane of its rotation.  I'm not explaining this well, but you could
wiggle the fan (or the clutch mounting surface after the fan has been
removed).  Is this normal?
