[s-cars] Viscous Fan Clutch Question

Yes it's normal. I just wiggled the outside edge of the fan about 3/16" with
new viscous-clutch, spindle, bearing and pulley. Fan has no moving parts and
it survived my R&R. btw, contrary to the manual, the threads on my 93 S4 are
RIGHT hand. No wonder I mangled the job.

in the clutch.  In other words, you could move the fan outside the
plane of its rotation.  I'm not explaining this well, but you could
wiggle the fan (or the clutch mounting surface after the fan has been
removed).  Is this normal?"
