[s-cars] No Radio Code

It is certainly worth the effort to look. Many dealers are demanding to
be paid for their time retrieving codes, since they perceive that
most of
this traffic comes from people buying used replacements instead of
coming to the parts department.
When you get one write it in the book in large letters and on tape next
to the battery. The code is not going to protect the OEM radio on a 15
year old car from theft. It has done more to frustrate the rightful
owner
than serve as a theft deterrent. If they break your window glass, trash
your dash,cut the wiring and steal your radio, it matters little if
they can
use it or not.
I write it on top of the control head so it doesn't get trashed as
well. :-)
