Tom admitted: "I drove the car to work today and noted the total cutoff at full boost.
Driving home, it began to cut out at more moderate throttle positions - pull
over, pop the hood and find 2 coils popping up, so I really need to heed Dave's
advice. Although it is still odd that I do not get a misfire in one, or two,
but a total cut out of the ignition. "
Tom: AH HA!! You really need to trim the coil packs, the hard plastic if necessary and the rubber ring for sure until you can get the coil packs to snap onto the hex part of the spark plug. I suggest that after trimming the hard plastic, remove the rubber ring and try the coil pack on the spark plug. You should hear it snap onto the plug. Note the height of the coil pack relative to the cam cover. Now trim the rubber ring as I suggested in the instructions, and reinstall the coil pack with the rubber ring. You won't hear the snap because the rubber ring blocks the sound. However, you will be able to note whether the height is the same as when you trialled the coil pack without the ring.
It will work and you will be happy.
