Thanks to all for the advice re the cover. Avoiding heat is a good thing, I  
will leave the OEM cover alone. I'll install new plugs (old ones have  run 
50K), make sure the boots fit properly onto the plugs and report back.

A questionable plug will have a similar symptom as a flaky coil and can  lead 
to coil failure.

Also, installing the cover will increase the coil temperature, probably  
something you want to avoid.

What I meant  was - will the old cover, with old coils removed, fit on with 
the new  coil/harness set? My goal is to run the original cover so all looks  
stock.

The Apikol cover does not work with the old coils. There is  no where to
