I would have to agree with Rolf in non-competition situations, you can get
away with agressive but cold temp
friendly pads such as the EBC Yellow, HP+.  I have HP+ on the Saabaru and
the braking is really quite good,
at the expense of rotors in a BAD way, with enough dust to coat the body
sides. And I don't live where there
is a lot of braking (pads went on for Autocross). The Noise issue is
actually not, they're quiet except in parking,
particularly in reverse. Normal street driving, even slow hasn't been noisy
at all. It's mostly the amazing disappearing
rotors and the dust that bother me.
