Missed that Rolf was talking about full race pads. Whoops. True, full race
pads would be dangerous on the street, expecially at cooler temps.
Heck, on my Auto-X GTi, I only had Mintex Metals (can't recall what they
were anymore, it's been years) and on a cold winter morn, it took about 1/2
block to come to a stop. Had to press the GTi into street service one day
because the 4000 was in the shop. Learned to drag the brakes for the first
mile or two and in prep for stops. Not a safe situation.
