I'd love to plan on an S8 for an upgrade path, but I just can't stand the
thought of driving an Audi slush-o-matic.  If they won't let U.S. drivers
have a shifter any more I hope I can hold out for a DSG.

Said it before I'll say it again (and again) - *I* was probably *the* most
outspoken / diehard "hafta row it mesself" heel toeing died in the wool petrol
head I know.  I'm one year / 20k into Chicktronic and there hasn't been one
single solitary iotoa of one single solitary day I'm left wanting.

Nope.  Uh uh.  No.

Just saying
  there's SO much more to these cars than shifting.  It's something
to experience.

To me, not considering one is denying one's self one of the greater automotive
conquests out there (IMHO).  I've driven er "a lot" of um "cool" cars as you
know - hands down this is one (if not the, dare I say) best all around driving
cars I've experienced.  No exaggeration.

But hey whattaIknow 8-).  Plus I gots the TR3 to grind gears when I want heh
heh
