Thanks for the comment, Jerry. The odd thing is, I've run these
brakes on 15 or so track days, most of them with much more aggressive
pads (I was running PF 01 race pads up until recently), with no issues
until now. This last time I ran these Hawk HPS street pads and had
much lower brake temperatures (as judged by the lack of bubbling wheel
paint and other qualitative data.) But the pads were much thinner, so
I figured that probably had something to do with it. I've also since
read about people shimming pads when they get thin to keep the pistons
from extending too far.
