Although I didn't have the honor to know Bill personally - short chat at
S-Fest still gave me an idea how a great guy he was -, when great listers
say Bill was great, then I know for sure he was great.

Beside, having two friends who lost their husband, I find Mike's suggestion
is the very best idea to give back to Colleen what Bill gave to the few of
us who add the chance to live close to him. While those at reasonable
distance can contribute with their time, those far away cannot really. But,
if such ideas concretize, I would be more than glad to contribute to the
expenses for material, tools or whatever is needed for whatever project(s)
the list come with.

Keep us posted and, beside contribution to floral arrangements and more, it
would be a good idea to have another opportunity to contribute, probably
later, to the "helping hands" project. Helping twice, from what I've read,
would still be far from what Bill gave to some of us.

Wow, a stoke of bad news comes over the phone tonight from spaceman Bob and
then I migrate to the posts!

I am proud to say I knew Bill and had the priveledge to chat with him each
year....and at those GOF's. That cool boost gauge and a wife who talks cars
with the best of them. Of course I made a mistake of calling him Abe this
year only makes me realize how good a friend he was to Bill.

Tha man will be missed for sure. Never a harsh word from the mans mouth
and he always enjoyed chatting with ya. We talked a bit at sfest this year
when he told stories about his cabriolet repairs.

One of the best things I did this year was for a family of a good friend
of mine that passed away ski patrolling last year. A group of us all made a
point to go to his wifes house and build a deck and addition on their home.
Things that sometimes can never be done when your alone with no husband.
When things settle a bit, I suggest we make the offer for a "honey do list"
day. It would be such a good thing for his wife to remember how much of a
great group we really are. Give back a little of what Bill gave to us all.

It's never a glad moment to lose a loved one but we make a point to toss
back a beer and take a shot of JD for our lost friend every year. Sfests
anfd GOF's I demand be no different for Bill!

As Mahoney eluded too. Goodbyes happen for reasons we'll never understand
and we cannot control. I'll be glad to see Bill later in life.

  Mike P
