>>Yes, it's an unusual request: I'm looking for bad/dead POS units. I'm
investigating some alternatives to the stock units, and ideally would like
to gut a few bad POS units to have the correct connectors to mate with the
OE wiring harness. I'll be sure to share my findings if successful.

Matt,

I cringe when I think of the number of "perfectly good" 2-channel POS
modules that must have been thrown away by dealership service departments!

Good luck with your investigation. The circuit inside the POS isn't that
complicated. I keep thinking it would be possible to come up with an
alternative circuit that uses a beefier power transistor which could be
properly heat-sinked.

However, lack of time and not having ready access to a scope have kept me
from pursuing it further.

I'm running 1.8 coils right now, which have proven reliable once I replaced
all the 034 Motorsport-supplied coils (note to self: remember to contact 034
to discuss a refund for the bad coils!).

I ever get around to going back to OEM coils, in addition to coming up with
a POS that is not a POS, I want to come up with some sort of "patch panel"
arrangement which would allow switching around coils and POS channels to
facilitate troubleshooting both coil and POS problems.
