---snip--
No backstabbing, no dishonesty, no overpaying to get the deal.We had no
idea of knowing what the seller had said to anyone. We liked the car, made
the effort to go see it first, and closed the deal.End of story.
Also, by buying the car, we saved one more of them being a parted out car,
that Chris Semple would surely have done.
Hope this clears up some issues.
Regards,
Don Smith
New arrivals aren't destined for one outcome or another, it's simply a
matter of what comes first. We resell plenty of cars, and part out many
more. It's all supply and demand. Totalled out Golf/Jetta TDi's are being
rebuilt, and whole S-cars parted out, it's just the pull of the universe. I
try not to guess at what other people will do, as I'm often wrong.
Case-in-point, I was talking with a frame shop about pulling an ur-q back
to straight again, and he stopped me and asked for the year again.
"Why would you bother with an '83 car?"
For most of us on this list(and others), it's a labour of love!
Speaking of which, if anybody wants to see an S6 exercised as intended, the
all tarmac RallyNewYork is this Fri/Sat in Ellenville NY.
