Are these the stock brakes? If so, then they are identical to my wife's A6
2.7 and I just put Akebono Ceramics all the way around on that car. It does
pretty well. They took about 1k miles to really come in, cold braking
wasn't all that great for the first bit, but they are pretty darn good all
around now. I did all 4 corners with new rotors and pads for about $400. I
have Stoptechs on my B5 with Pagid Sports, I believe - haven't had to change
them since I bought the car so I am not 100% sure - man do they feel sweet!

Not too sure about your calipers, I am currently running Ferodo DS2500
with my 928GTS set up and they are incredible but noisy in cold
weather and pretty dusty.
I have heard good things about PBR pads for DD use, not sure if they
make them for your application though.
