Car is a 95 S6 and the insulation on the cross over pipe has come loose and

is rattling terribly.
What is the consensus on is it worth trying to save or just cut it  off?
I don't track the car so heat shouldn't be a big problem I wouldn't think
on 
a day to day basis.
Thoughts?
