Jake - My '95 S6 Avant has a stainless muffler from Stebro.

They do complete systems, but I don't have one and can't speak to their
performance, although I like the muffler.
I also recently deleted the center "kidney bean" resonators on my car and
replaced them with custom 3" pipe back to the muffler. The car is not much
louder as a result, although at low speeds, driving around town, you notice
the difference, and can hear the exhaust a bit. On the highway, it's
unnoticeable. Any performance gains from my set up are probably marginal,
but I've definitely got a less weighty exhaust system as a result. I had a
local shop fab the pipe, complete with the appropriate hangers, etc. It
works great and was not very costly, $300 IIRC. A top quality
muffler/exhaust place in your area could do the same
Some folks here in Colorado are manufacturing 3" aluminum exhausts. They're
called Salta Motorsports. They've told me the performance is great, and they
say that - at least in Colorado - you'll have sold your car well before the
aluminum system deteriorates from age and use. Their link is

I've actually had Salta do some work on my S6 and found them to be great,
with very fair prices and highly knowledgeable about the brand. As always, I
have no financial interest in either Stebro or Salta, just passing along
some info.
Enjoy the car. I had an IA stage one chip on a now sold 5000 csa and the car
HAULED ASS. My current ride has the MTM stage 1 chip, and it's nice, but I
still remember how great the IA stuff worked in that 5000, and how that old
wagon gave the beat down to all comers! :-)
