Yes, that is the wheel.? I had communication issues with BIRA so I sourced my brackets from Billzcat.

really?  what brackets and rotors?

mine are also fuchs - the 16x8 5-spoke wheel that came stock on the '92 S4.  
let's make sure we're talking about the same wheel.

i'm using BIRA system 3, which uses 996 calipers over euro A8 314x30mm rotors.  
the stock 16x8 wheels fit fine.  clearance is tight both at the top and on the 
outboard side of the caliper, but there's certainly more than two credit card 
thicknesses.  i would estimate 1/4".

As a reference point my (old) Fuchs would not clear 996 calipers either (which 
was the whole f'ing reason I went with them vs big red/blacks).? I was pissed.
