I can't point you to a particular post, but there are some
great projects going on just like this over at motorgeek.com

I recommend you peruse the project forum there and I'll bet you
find a project close to what you want to do.

Then join and start your own project thread announcing what you
have and want to do, I'll bet you get alot of good feedback.
