[s-cars] Fuel gauge not gauging properly (sometimes)

Try a bottle of techron. Mine too was flakey a ways back and after the
techron all was swell. Might have something to do with de-gumming the level
sender. Either way it worked and even if it does not work for you it is
good practice to run techron through on a somewhat regular basis.

Subject: [s-cars] Fuel gauge not gauging properly (sometimes)

S-Heads,

My 95 S6 recently started telling me I need gas even if I just filledthe
tank. Some days, it works, then as I drive, it will drop to E. What is
the likely cause of this? Bad soldering joint in the IC? Something else
obvious I'm missing?

It's just strange that some times it works just fine yet othertimes, it
works intermitently or not at all.

If it's likely a soldering problem in the IC, is it aDIY repair? I've
done soldering, but not regularly - I'd probably have to get a decent
soldering iron.

Any assistance apreciated.

TIA,

Paul Dooley
