I haven't had enough seat time in these cars, but the Elise left a big impression on me, I'd personally have a hard time leaving that one out. However, the C5 and the 996 are just such great, fun cars that given their negatives (as you mention: parts quality in the C5, prices in the 996) there is such a huge aftermarket and factory support of these cars they can reward you with years of fun - which would be a primary selling point to me. Other than the M3, I can't think of any other vehilce that would be in the same "league".
