Few driver profiles fit the normal use category, Matt.  I just switch  
to the extreme use category, which cuts the change interval in half.   
I use the same for
the oil and air filters-half the normal interval.  Short trips and  
stop-and-go traffic are just as extreme as Mohave trips.

What is more important is the type of oil used.  Check the owners  
manual for the maintenance schedule intervals, but synthetic oil with  
the energy saving
rating is the only oil to use in these engines.
