[s-cars] 2142 code still pulling up

Hi all
I have an ongoing problem...I Bought a set of MRC chips(stage II) and as
soon as I installed them, my check engine light would come on after a hard
pull in any gear. I checked the codes and it came up as 2142(faulty Knock
sensor #1). After consulting with Bob Myers, we thought it might be the
chips, so we swapped them out for a different set, and same result. So, I
thought It must be the knock sensor, so I just finally got to it today and
there is no difference in the cars performance. Everytime I accelerate hard
(over 1.6bar) the ecu senses a knock and retards timing, reduces boost. I'm
at a loss here and wonder what else I should be checking?
