A new setback:
After wiring in the input jack, the Concert does not recognize the command to change modes to CD Changer/i-Pod input.
After some digging around I found the service schematics and for the Concert with the following information:

If your Concert is New, or I'm guessing here, Reconditioned, it needs to be programmed through the  vehicle diagnostics connector, to be setup for an external CD Changer as well as to be Bose system compliant.

The Concert is pretty universal in its applications, also having internal amplifiers for other installations.
Nice product, just complex to install. Hopefully our OBD I diagnostics bus will recognize the Concert as it was introduced at a later date on OBD II compliant vehicles. I will get to that later this week.
