[s-cars] Winter tires again, gislaved nordfrost 5 -Vs Nokian RSi any thoughts?

I had some gislaved's back in the day on a Saab.  They were comparable to
the Nokes although I always thought the Nokes were  better. Can't comment on
the current models.

Re: your size question - I used to always go 15-16 winter-summer on my older
cars, then when I went BIRA I had to go 16-17" to fit the brakes.  I've been
living on a variety of take-offs and leftovers in 16" for my snows ever
since, doubt I would go back to 15" but they do give you a lot more rim
safety, and as somebody pointed out usually tires are a bit cheaper although
depends on what you're doing for rims - if you're buying there are so many
take-off and junkyard 16" Audi rims available from various A4's/A6's you can
pick them up for a song.  I think I paid $400 for 5 perfect (at the time...
heh heh oops) 2.7T rims with good Conti tires on them a few years ago - now
my current snow rims.
