There are R8s to be had right now if one had the funds and did a little looking. My dealer has 2 right now, One new and one "lightly" used. The new one is Daytona with CF interior and engine bay trim, B&O sound, 6 speed, etc. Not in my near future unfortunately. S5 allocations are sold but there are dealers advertising in-stock S5s in certain parts of the country. Still great to see the demand is still there for the most part especially with the jobs being lost all over N.A.
1st Q '09 will hopefully be the last like this and maybe 2nd Q will at least see a leveling-off.

Was at my local stealer yesterday picking an ignition switch (3rd one) and
took a closer look at, first , a R8, and then the A5. Salesman was telling
me that they're sold out of their allocation of R8s and both A5 and S5 and
waiting lists are up around 9 months for A5, over 12 months for S5  and even
more for the R8.
 
No recession here!

96 S6 - will be above freezing here today so I won't freeze my buns
installing the ignition switch.
