[s-cars] Thermostat install

I'm replacing a busted thermostat in my 93 urs4.  I've read several 
howtos in the archives and on forums and most of them are saying to make 
sure I don't put it in upside down.  There is supposed to be a bleed 
hole somewhere along the outer edge of the thermostat and that hole 
needs be mounted in the 12 o'clock position.  The one I took out had a 
half inch slot in it at the 12 o'clock position when it was installed.  
There is no such hole that I can see on the one I bought.  I bought it 
from http://partsdirect.s-cars.org so I presume it is the right one (87 
degree Celsius).  Is it supposed to have a vent hole?  Should I give it 
one?
