[s-cars] Leaking Steering Rack

Hi All,
I put a steering rack on my 94 S4 in June 03. I
ordered it from Jorgan Automotive. It currently has
about 44,000 miles on it. It leaked some a few months
ago and then stopped.
Now the passenger side is leaking when I turn the
wheel to the far left. It looks like I cannot access
any connections without removing it.
I'm wondering if there is the possibility that
something just needs to be tightened up or an "O" ring
replaced?
The rack is said to have a lifetime warranty. The
problem is that the mechanic and I decided, for
several reasons, not to install the $21.00 filter they
sent with the rack. It was to keep my fluid clean.
My fluid seems clean. I routinely clean the screen in
the reservoir and check the fluid for contamination
with a white cloth.
I'm hoping I can loosen the passenger side of the rack
(probably pull away from steering column) and pull it
forward enough to check out the connections behind.
Is there anything there I can check? Seems like an
odd place to put the connections.
TIA
Greg
