Turns out Bill Perron's mom works at a local bank - I've seen her there for
years but I only knew her as Phyllis.  I never knew Bill.

 

This past Friday I was in the bank and I saw Phyllis, so I hustled over for
her to take care of me.  She's very nice, I sometimes see her in church but
I hadn't seen her at the bank or spoken with her in some time.  We chatted,
and she in short order shared with me the sad tale of losing her son in an
accident.   As she spoke I locked on to her nametag, and the pain and the
connection all snapped into focus - this was the mother of the man I'd heard
so many good things about in the wake of a great tragedy.  

 

When I told her of my (remote) connection with the s-head dysfunctional
family her eyes just lit up.  She was deeply grateful to all the members of
the Audi community who extended themselves in that time of intense pain and
loss - the feelings and efforts extended were heartfelt and deeply
appreciated.
