after having erratic temp gauge while driving, I instictivly replaced the T-stat, this did not correct the problem, I just replaced the MFTS and still the gauge reads up and down.

channel 51 CC display reads 83-87C while driving. Temp gauge will slowly to moderatly rise to the 90C hash mark then will drop down to the 80C mark then sits around 60C. Gauge will rise and drop in traffic and will generally read low at 55mph. outside temps range from 4-30F degrees.

The plug walls to the MFTS were cracked and broken when I pulled it off, but the terminals looked fine still, and the plug fits fine and snug as it should.

1 wire to the 2 pin switch was broken just below the spade (these wires are very brittle) but that switch does not effect anything other than running after run pump and fan when car is off correct?

So I am at a loss here, radiator is brand new 2 years ago.
I have not driven the car in these cold of temps in a couple years but do not ever remember the temp gauge being sporadic in cold weather, nor do I think it should.

what do I do next, last resort is drop it at the shop:(

oh and I do have heat

should the CC display reading fluctuate at all? 2-5 degrees?

its roughly a twenty degree differance between the temp gauge and the CC display

thanks again

Forrest

I just want to drive my car the way I did when I bought it
