You still need to determine if the leak is from inside the boots or an
external fitting. I think you can slide the boots back to determine that. 

Jorgen then needs to find contaminants in the rack to indicate contaminants
were the cause of failure. Did you flush the old oil from the system before
refilling?

My rack didn't have any serious leak but the boots had disintegrated. I knew
it was time to address it, and that was at 200,000 miles. Jorgen rebuild
with filter installed.
