[s-cars] ignition switch

I just completed my annual trip to Key West in the S6 avant. The car
performed flawlessly, logging 23.5 to 24 mpg for the approximately
2400 mile round trip,
except for an intermittent no start problem in Key West. A quick
change of the ignition electrical switch solved the problem. I have
had the remain in the start
position failure on the sedan, but this is the first time I have seen
this failure mode. The switch was replaced under recall about four
years ago, so it was a
genuine Audi part, just missing the set screw sealant. I replaced
with a genuine part flown in from World Impex. I am getting pretty
quick at making the change
with experience on two previous changes, and had removed this switch
to check it before the replacement, but could not see any defect, but
decided the symptoms
were pointing directly at a switch failure. The intermittent problem
only lasted for 4 or 5 starts before it would not operate the
starter. All other functions of the switch
were normal.
