If memory serves, look at both connectors, I think the CPS one had +, - and
something else imprinted in small type near the wires.  You may have to
clean off any grease/oil/mung.  Otherwise when you peel back the weather
boot I recall the wire colors were once red/green/brown.

Otherwise from the Book of Robert, Chapter X, verse 839, lines 62 and 63:
CPD (G40) is shown for the 95 S6 as
Pin 1/+ color red
Pin 2/S color green/red
Pin 3/- color brown/red

Does anyone know which are the power wires and which one is the signal wire,

looking down at the connector at the fuel rail?
