Chris,
Can't say I'm positive regarding your car, but the symptoms you
described are identical to what my old S6 was doing before I changed the
CPS (no stumble on my car though). Would start when cold, but when warm
and you shut it down - nada...sit and be patient until the engine cooled
and I was good to go though.
Can't recall the codes I pulled, or if I even had a code stored, but I
do remember it would flash a CEL (not on steady though) after which I
had to be sure not to shut the engine off before returning home. Only
got suprised once like this before figuring this one out, but it was
still a week plus before I got the new CPS from BBMacao - planned my
trips accordingly during that time ;-)
New CPS spliced in fixed that issue just fine thank you very much...the
rear-ender not too long after that just wouldn't buff out though.

Tom,
There was just the one code, 4411.
Car will stay running all day if you don't shut it off.
But if I get the CEL I know when I shut it off it own't restart.
Let the car sit long enough and it will restart, sometimes this is an
hour, othertimes longer.
There is a stumble at 3-4k rpm which I've believed was a coil and was
planning on getting a replacement coil. Now I'm thinking I should swap
out fuel injector #1 to see if the stumble goes away.
I do have a CPS on it's way and plan on replacing it this weekend, but
until then I still need the transportation.
What else could cause this problem?
IT has been recommended I check:
Fuel pump relay - but the car keeps running unless I shut it off.
Fuel pump fuse - again car stays running Fuel pump pressure while it's
acting up - how would I do this?
Thanks for your help
Chris
