IME, the best tool is actual sale prices. When they receive more than 50 ads
with the amount you ask for or more, they drop the ball because they know
they would loose in front of anyone with so many evidences of your point
(price point).

Out of my head, in random order, sources would be:
- Completed sales on eBay
- Local or not so local papers (List help required here)
- Audifans Marketplace
- Audiworld Ads
- Any audi site with ads
Note that insurrance take into account regional variation of prices so the
more local prices you find the better.

In my case, it worked very well to send 10 of them every week, then call
them and ask "Not convinced yet? Another batch is coming". They dropped the
ball after the 5th week with me asking 3 times their first estimate and
twice the price I paid on a CQ20V (I was luckier than your wife, I owned it
for 19 days). Audiwise it was a sad event, but financially speaking it has
been my best investment yet (100% in 19 days!)

Well, after 14 days (yes, you read that right) of blissful ownership, my
wife and her 89K mile '97 A6Q was rear ended.  With $7100 in repair cost due
to minor damage to the rear frame tails, I expect the other parties
insurance company to total the car.  I plan to do a buy back and repair, but
need any ammo from recent sales and/or insurance claims that will help me
make the best case for market value.  Just getting prepared for the lowball
value from the insurance company.  Any help is appreciated.
