Randy: You really need to get that coil fixed. It was weak when I drove your car in the summer of 2006. I'm not surprized it failed.

Forget dealer prices on a stock coil. Call VM Autohaus (Kris) in Burnaby about $120 last time I checked or go through FAP99:

http://www.fap99.com/RenderScriptTemplate.epc?_cmd=epccat_VehicleWHD&cookieID=28K01LRB129V02M2JZ&yearid=1993%40%401993&makeid=AUDI%40%40AUDI&engineid=1009347%40%40S4++%2F+L5%2D2226cc+2%2E2L+GAS+FI++Turbo+%28AAN%29%40%40S4+&catid=Ignition%40%40Ignition&mode=PA&subcatid=Ignition+Coil@@Ignition+Coil&source=google&clientid=fap99

$127.68

or Kingsborne Wire Werks:

http://www.kingsborne.com/html/audi.pdf (you want the ZS 043) $115 last time I checked.

OR get the Apikol plug and play 1.8 coil pack kit for $399 (20 minutes hard labour during the conversion)

https://www.apikol.com/#Products,Engine,21

Replacement coils, with built-in POSs, are about $30.

And no, I don't get a penny for any of these endorsements.

Bottomline: Pick one and do it. You have been limping on that dying coil too long.

Dave F.
