Jeff;
That's a tricky one. I believe the EDL is integrated into the ABS module,
and I assume you'll want to keep the ABS active. If someone else doesn't
have a better solution, you could install an ABS switch and turn the entire
system off in those low traction situations - kind of like the UrS4 cars
turning off ABS when the diff lock was engaged. That is in the the CDRom :)
There is a certain amount of slip in the Torsen diff - I don't know how it
would react to EDL. My guess would be that EDL might keep the torsen from
locking up, depending on how good the EDL is. There have been a number of
torsen rear diffs installed - did everyone else disable EDL?

Subject: [s-cars] Installing Torsen diffs and disabling EDL on a 95.5
S6.
S-hedz :
I have this 1995.5 S6 with EDL.
I have this V8 Torsen I bought from K. Maddocks
Come April, I will be working on the suspension in the S6 and want to
install the Torsen diff.
Question is: Since the 1995.5 ABS is not aware of the manifold benefits
of Torsen diff, how can I disable the EDL in the car, once the Torsen is
installed.?
Don't think I'll want to EDL the Torsen in low traction situations,
nope, that doesn't make sense.
I checked the Fred Munro CD Rom, my 5 years of S car list archives and
few other places.
Can't locate any information about this..
Any info here would be appreciated.
