Speaking of ice driving...my son Jonathan and I attended an Audi Club 
winter driving school at O'Neill's Rally School last weekend (upstate 
New Hampshire.)

It was an awesome experience...lots of seat time, great instruction, 
some grins.

I won't bore you with the details, but suffice it to say that a well 
prepared Audi can do some awesome things on a surface on which you 
could not stand upright.

Jonathan and I both learned a lot about driving in slippery 
conditions. For me it was mostly practice, practicing in slow motion 
what I do on an autocross course at a much faster pace. But it was 
quite surprising how much grip the cars offer, and how much control 
the quattro system provides when you'd think the car would just give 
up and slide out of control.

There are a couple of winter driving courses coming up in February, 
offered by several local Audi clubs here in New England. If you 
haven't taken this course, you should!
