[s-cars] Coolant loss / Use

I believe that the screw fitting is in the hose to allow you to bleed air
from the heater core/lines, as it is a near high spot in that portion of the
system.

I've been having a similar leak over many months, but since the inlet
nipple on the overflow tank was cracked, I figured that was it. When I
replaced the overflow tank the leak didn't stop.

One of the good things about using the G12 pink coolant is that it
leaves an obvious crusty sign of leaks. When I looked under the cowling
cover I noticed that the heater valve and the funky looking hose between
the heater valve and the heater core were covered in pink crusty stuff.
So, I would check there to see if yours are leaking. They are out of
sight out of mind, so it's not an obvious place to look for leaks.

BTW, that funky hose (looks like it has a fitting screwed into it) is
extremely expensive. I thought it had some kind of an orifice built
into it, but when I got the replacement I noticed that there ain't
nuttin' inside. Seems like it's just a screw fitting to provide access
for testing, or something. So if yours is leaking replace it with a
standard straight hose (or clean up and seal the fitting).
