Robert,
The cam cover is not really part of the vent system, other than to function as a tube.? It doesn't in any way ventilate the space under the cam cover.? So, you could put a filter on the front end of it, and incorporate a can between the rear of the cover and the existing system... but then you would no longer have a source of vacuum when operating under any situation other than idle.
I guess the question in my mind, is why?? The stock setup works very well under all conditions other than a violent 1st gear launch... which will pump oil through the system, ultimately sucking it in through the turbo... resulting in a very smokey launch.? You also must be making significantly more than RS2 power levels for this to happen.
If you're doing that sort of driving, you have to do something... but if not, I wouldn't bother.? On my car, I simply attached a hose to the front of the cam cover, and ran it to a catch can.? A violent launch will spit 3 or 4 ounces of oil into the can.

Subject: [s-cars] catch can plumbing
Any recommendations on plumbing a catch can between the cam cover and the
existing evac system on the S6. I was thinking of putting a filter on the front
of the cam cover, and having the rear plumbed into the catch can. I thought
the drain could be plumbed into the current evac system. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Robert
