[s-cars] Saw my first A5

I don't know, I supposedly have the worst possible setup on my '01 S4 for
cooking turbos - pre 2001.5 swapover design, aggressive ABT chip, and
running at altitude and I thrash the hell out of it and have had no issues
whatsoever. Worst case scenario is I torch the turbos and have to
upgrade.....what a shame :) I have never heard of anyone having problems
after switching to K04s.
I guess my point on the 3.2 vs. 2.7t is simple. If you are leaving the 2.7t
stock and you live down in the thick air, then yes, it makes no sense.
However, if you live up in the thin air, are doing an engine swap where K04s
are a no brainer, and you want to push 400+ HP, the 3.2 ain't gonna cut it.
I have run down way too many Z-28's, NA Porsche Carreras, S-2000s, etc. in
my simply modded '01 S4 with the stock K03's to ever go with a normally
aspirated car in Denver that has less than 400 cubic inches - which is
getting price prohibitive on gas anyway.
Oh, and somebody mentioned the A4 handling vs. the S4 handling. I guess I
have no handling complaints from my '01 S4 with the H&R Coilovers.

2.7T engines with K03s seem to cook turbos a lot. My question was whether a
swap from K03 to K04 fixes the problem permanently or if it is an inherent
design flaw.
Until these tiny turbos, I've never really had any issues with turbo
quattros.
I don't really see the point of a 2.7T swap in an A5- the 3.2 is the same
power output without turbos. If you're going to do a big turbo swap, I'd
actually wait until the FI version comes out and do something with the FI
engine rather than a complete engine swap.
Anyway, good luck trying to get a 2.7T to talk to the rest of the systems in
an A5.
