I've had my 3/8" Craftsman manual torque wrench for about 8 years now, and I've used it pretty often.  The only thing that has happened is the spring clip in the head came out of the hoop (the mechanism that allows it to change direction), but I fixed that in about 5 minutes and it's been fine ever since.  I guess as always, your individual results may vary.  The only thing I'll add is that Sears doesn't warrant their torque wrenches forever like other tools.  90 days IIRC.

I've never shopped for a MAC or Snap-On wrench of any sort, so I don't know how they compare.  I can only guess they're favorable, but I was poor (still am, but for different reasons) at the time so I bought what I thought was reasonable.
