[s-cars] Source for torque wrench?

I have a Craftsman torque wrench that's at least 40 yrs old (!!), works
great except that the calibration sleeve recently slipped so I've lost
accuracy, besides, I strongly suspect it needs calibration anyway ;)

Anyone know how/where that's done? I wouldn't mind upgrading to a Snap-On,
anyone know where or how I could get a discount on one? Or what's
considered a good one for not too much money? I'd relinquish the old
Craftsman for throwing into the autocross trailer to tighten wheel lugs only
and keep the good one in the garage.

I bought a Harbor Freight 1/2 drive torque wrench several years ago when my
Craftsman fell apart.

It's been great and seems much more solid than the Craftsman being all
metal.
Best part was it cost $9.99. It's the same one they sell for $19.99 now.
Gotta love Harbor Freight.

Jim,

I had a Craftsman 1/2" drive torque wrench for about 10 years. I used it
_very_ lightly and the damn thing fell apart anyway. The plastic bits
went to shit and the handle split.

Snap-On/MAC/Matco and the like have excellent torque wrenches but they are
quite salty. I trolled Ebay for a couple weeks and picked up a used MAC
torque wrench (all metal). It was only $50 as the finish was not perfect on
it. I fully suspect this will be the last torque wrench I ever have to buy.

What the heck happened to your old one? Don't you know that you never, ever
sell any of your tools. That's just the way it is...
