Also, check for a semi sweet smell out of your tailpipe on startup... along with a fair amount of steam.? This is another indicator of a head gasket failure that may be evident.

I just replaced a water pump about 2 months ago, but I thought they had said
auxiliary pump? Not sure exactly, will have to double check receipt.
Timing belt and water pump were also replaced about 1-2 years ago (less than
15,000 miles). Can't positively see any flow into the resevoir, but that
is where hot gas/coolant is coming out. Oil still looks dark, normal
color. The fan runs as it always has (the other fan is for the AC system,
correct?). I will check compression to see if anything is amiss there.
