Your struggle with the swaybar can be avoided by simply letting the weight of the car compress the suspension.? The 2 eyes move outward in their arc (meaning further apart) and there will be no struggle to get them back in place.? Lowered cars are even easier.? When the control arms are parallel with the ground, it is cake.

Tony...

I just did front control arms on my wife's 97 A6Q and got my parts from
GAP. If you call them, they'll tell you the brand they have in stock.
Mine were Karlyn.

The hardest part of the job is getting the sway bar hooked back up. I
used a ratchet strap to compress the sway bar (one side at a time) and
get it to line up with the control arms. Good luck.

Hi all,

Control arms are up for renewal. Just wondering if this is a DIY job for
reasonably savvy home wrench? And are TRW arms that much better for the
extra $$$$ - $247 pair from Canadian online source for (TRW) or $187
from German Auto Parts (no stated brand).

TIA
