Teddy,
What you want is a MRC chip set! Here are my before being chipped numbers...
HC ppm (idle): 126
HC ppm (2500rpm): 47
CO% Idle : 0.32
CO% (2500): 0.42
After MRC...
HC ppm (idle): 26
HC ppm (2500rpm): 28
CO% Idle : 0.01
CO% (2500): 0.02
Tests at the same test centre.

i got a surprising phone call last friday: my car passed smog. the tech
wasn't around when i picked up the car, so i wasn't able to find out what he
did to get it to pass. my car had been blowing about 125 ppm HC at 2500 rpm
(the limit is 120) and passing the other tests, so it was right on the edge.
the latest test results showed 117 ppm HC at 2500 rpm - so it just barely
passed, and that was probably within the range of normal variation.
it's clear to me that i still have to find out where the extra HC is coming
from. i haven't gotten a chance to warm up the car and put it on VAG-COM
yet, but that's on the agenda for this week. meanwhile, i discovered my car
has a new problem: misfiring badly at 4000+ rpm, or under high boost, and it
happens every time. i looked at the shop report and noticed that the new
spark plugs that the shop installed were $4 each. at that price, they're
definitely not the F5DP0R. so i need to get new plugs. i don't think the
old ones had that many miles on them, but fresh plugs wouldn't be a bad idea
anyway, since i had started getting occasional misfires. i'm debating
whether to do the ignition coil conversion, too, but i guess i'll change the
plugs first and see what happens.

Mark: I know you suggested the temp sensor before. That is why I made my
earlier post, regarding the location and function of the G62 temp sensor:

I think that your temp sensor suggestion was an excellent one and that Teddy
should pursue (sp?) that one over all others (at least initially).
