Adding my .02 to the Prius bashing...

I've had the fortune of driving a Prius as a rental car for a couple 
weeks this winter.  I say fortune because now I know I don't like them.  
Overall impression was I couldn't wait to return the car and get into a 
real car.  I commuted in the car (30 miles each way mostly highway) and 
ran to the ski resort several evenings and weekends (western PA 
interstate and small mountains).  All total, I ran about 1,200 miles in 
the car.  I averaged 35MPG which was for sh*t.  My BMW E36 gets that or 
better running the same routes and is a hell of a lot more car and 
comfortable - I've actually driven 500+ miles on less than 20 gallons in 
this car!.  I'd rather pay more for gas, drive my S6, be more 
comfortable, and enjoy the overall driving experience than drive a 
Prius.  The list is long as far as things I didn't like about the car - 
so much so that when car rental companies happily offer me one, I'll 
walk the other way.

The Prius may have their merits and many people love them, but it's 
definitely not for everyone.

Especially not for me.
