Mike, do you live in the same state as I do???? It used to be that folks in
Colorado would, indeed, pull into the right lane when you were on their ass
trying to pass. But that was, what? 20 years or 25 years ago. (interestingly
enough, they still do this, but only in very rural areas way south and west,
like Westcliffe and Trinidad).
Ever since Colorado suffered through multiple waves of immigration from
other states, the traffic and drivers have gotten worse and worse and worse.
I-70? Forget it. It's filled with idiots in SUVs parked in the left lane. I
make it a habit to stay right to pass them! 36? Just as bad. I-25? Take a
guess. Best of all are the folks driving in the left lane right by the "Stay
Right Except to Pass" signs, totally oblivious.
Yes, a law was passed to stop this. No it is not enforced. It was passed as
part of a package of laws that were intended to hike up DUI penalties.
Nothing wrong with the latter, but you can bet that the former will only be
enforced selectively, if at all.
Just my ranting $0.02 ;-)
